As many of you are aware, Scott Thompson and Paul Ditsler have been building a full scale aircraft for the past couple of years. It is now finished and was on display at Oshkosh last week. Scott hopes to have his maiden flight in Elkhart in a couple of weeks.

How about on our new runway, Scott?
Although the weather dampened our much advertised work day on Saturday, several loyal members met on Sunday afternoon to begin installing the runway. The runway is made of a poly woven material that had to be stretched and stapled to the ground. The run way material was delivered in two rolls at 275 feet each. Eight inch staples were hammered in the ground with rubber mallets to hold it in place. The end result is a realistic looking runway 25’ wide and approximately 250’ long.
